Cereals and Oilseeds - AC Avonlea durum is one of the leading varieties in the durum growing regions. Shorter stronger straw, higher protein and higher pigment content than Kyle. AC Napoleon also boasts good straw strength and superior yields in the eastern Durum growing areas. AC Intrepid bread wheat matures early, stands very well and out yields Barrie in most regions. Harrington barley remains the most widely accepted 2 row malt barley and Vimy flax is on of the best choices in the dark brown soil region.

Inoculant
Simpson Seeds is a dealer for Becker Underwood (used to be MicroBioRhizogen(MBR)) inoculants. Becker Underwood located in Saskatoon, SK., producing peat, liquid and granular inoculant in a single strain formulation.
Single strain means rhizobium specific for each crop such as lentil, pea and chickpea. Self-stick peat inoculant is packed in sterile bags, giving it a 2 year shelf life. Liquid comes in a convenient 5L container that can be easily hung over an auger or conveyor when filling your seeder. Granular inoculant is a clay based product and is packaged in 22.68 kg bags (50 lbs). Granular inoculant has shown outstanding performance in first time pulse fields and dry conditions.
It is recommended to book your inoculant early to ensure supply. In past years shortages of product has occurred. Simpson Seeds offers an early booking as well as volume discounts.
